A Peak Inside Phrozen's Headquarter

A Peak Inside Phrozen's Headquarter

Curious about everything that goes behind every Phrozen machine sitting at your desk at home? Join us at Phrozen headquarters here in Hsinchu City with Mr. Joe!

Back in 2013, 3D printers were a luxury to own, with the cheapest costing you tens and thousands of dollars. And even then, the quality is far from what we're seeing today.

Even Mr. Joe, who is now a massive 3D printing fan, once said, "3D printing's post-processing took so long, I can easily use that time to finish a Gundam instead."

Mr. Joe claiming he can complete a Gundam in the time it took to post-process a resin 3d printed model

But everything changed when he first knew about Phrozen two years ago. With Phrozen's state-of-the-art 3D printing technologies, Mr. Joe has once again turned his head towards resin 3D printing, and this time, he fell in love.

With new innovations each time, dozens and dozens of resins to choose from, and even a self-developed 3D printables platform, Phrozen has so much to offer.

A Headquarters Where Everything Started

Today, Mr. Joe will take you on a tour to see everything that makes Phrozen the Phrozen we now know and love. Without further ado, let's dive in!

Phrozen's headquarters is located in Hsinchu City — a city also known as Taiwan's Silicon Valley, thanks to its advancement of semiconductors and other technologies, like 3D printing.

Racks of 3d printed models in Phrozen Hsinchu headquarters

When you first enter the headquarters, you'll be greeted with the Phrozen logo we are all familiar with and racks and racks of resin 3D printed models from various designers.

Years ago, Phrozen was first developed by Ray and Alex, a group of 3D printing enthusiasts. Back in 2016, a single 3D printer could easily cost them $10,000–$20,000 — a number so fantastic it's way out of reach for mere university students. So, combining their passions and educations in material engineering and mechanical engineering, Ray and Alex work their way to develop their first-ever 3D printer.

The guys who started Phrozen

Since then, Phrozen has evolved to not only pursue the creation of typical 3D models like figurines and miniatures but also to various industries, including jewelry, engineering, and even dentistry.

Phrozen’s Main 3D Printing Room

After checking on the various resins displayed on the racks, Mr. Joe continued his journey deeper into Phrozen's headquarters.

Phrozen's main 3d printing room

One of the most exciting rooms in the headquarters is easily the main 3D printing room. Whenever you see reels and pictures of stunning models posted on our Instagram, most of the time, this is where they are created.

At the same time, it's also the place where the newest 3D printers and resins are vigorously tested for the first time. And of course, it's not a successful print every time. Sometimes a print would fail, and troubleshooting would be required to determine the cause and optimize the next print.

Dental 3d printing room

Another exciting room would be the main 3D printing room for dental-related stuff. From developing and testing materials to pressing their own aligners with a thermoforming unit, it's a room where everything happens.

Lastly, Mr. Joe made sure to visit the studio. After making a remark on how the studio itself is way bigger than his office, Mr. Joe admits that he was truly impressed with the quality of pictures taken in the studio — especially the pictures uploaded on PIXUP's website.

A 3D Printing Solution for All Makers

Before Mr. Joe left the headquarters, he asked the last important question. So, what's next for Phrozen?

After years in the industry, innovating and developing new technologies from printers to resins, from 3D printing hobbyists to professionals in engineering and dentistry, Phrozen's main goal is to bring 3D printing to the masses and create an ecosystem that could offer solutions for all your 3D printing needs.

This goal is reflected in Phrozen's products. After coming up with various post-processing tools like Wash & Cure Kit, Sonic Saber, and Light Curing Putty, Phrozen is also developing their own 3D printables website — PIXUP. In the future, they hope to further extend their product lines to include everything you'll ever need to complete your 3D printing process from the beginning until your models are completed.
