The Icons of All Monsters

3D printed godzilla models

When it comes to monsters, Godzilla (or Gojira in Japanese) is undoubtedly one of the most well-known figures of all time. So, Joost van der Linden chose to go with this idea.

He printed an absolutely terrific Godzilla model by Lord of the Print on his loyal Sonic Mighty 4K.

In his later post, he mentioned how thankful he was for the opportunity to showcase his resin prints. As one of the early adopters of resin 3D printing, he once wrote a special guide for new users, providing tips and tricks for those who are just getting started and providing a safe 3d printing forum for beginners.

However, situation has forced him to stop resin 3D printing as he needed to move in to care for his dad.

"The first thing I printed in resin and painted after all these years was that awesome and insanely big Godzilla monster, I entered for the #Pixupmonsters print contest. So you might understand that I feel very humbled and honored to have made it to one of the three first prize winners!"

Huge congratulations to Joost van der Linden! The win is so well-deserved, and we can't wait to see more of your amazing creations!

Not Your Typical Frightening Monster

3d printed catnap model

Jun Wei Lee, also known as Zedabyu on his YouTube channel, decided to take another approach to this Monster Massacre theme.

While most participants went to the original route of printing dragon-like models and scary beasts, Jun Wei Lee chose an antagonist character from Poppy Playtime named CatNap.

Although at first glance he looks like a random oversized purple cat, you'll probably get an eerie feelings when you look at it for too long, most likely a testament to Jun Wei Lee wonderful painting job and attention to detail.

Dragon Doesn't Have to Be Scarry

3D printed dragon model

While Zhua Bang took the dragon model approach for his Monster Massacre participation, his dragon is definitely not like any others.

Choosing a model from Grumpii's 2024 Lunar New Year's collections, Zhua Bang decided to print the Qilii, a cute little dragon model inspired by Qilin — a mythical creature with the body of a horse and a dragon head.

It might not be the monster you have in mind upon hearing Monster Massacre, but it's definitely monster enough for Craig.

On another note, can you guess what Zhua Bang used to paint this cute little monster? It might surprise you!

Sculpting One Childhood at a Time

3d printed league of legend model

Zhan Zhenhan (詹榛漢) printed out the infamous Baron Nashor from the popular game League of Legends (LOL).

But here's a twist, instead of finding the model on the internet, he sculpted his own Baron models from scratch on Blender and did an absolutely wonderful painting job. Don't you think this model looks like it just walk off the League of Legend game screen?

Godzilla, But Make It Chibi

3d printed chibi model - godzilla model

Lei Po Tian (雷破天) was intrigued to participate in the competition when a friend brought up the topic. He wanted to participate but was not sure which model he should go with. So he went through his old model portfolios and decided to showcase these chibi Godzilla and Kong models by NomNomFigures as his entry.

He jokingly mentioned that he hoped the model designer wouldn't be mad at him for turning the mighty Godzilla model into something that looks so cowardly. But it doesn't, does it? It just looks so cute and shy.

He named the project 'The Godzilla Who Deserves a Beating.'
